Dr. Yassir Nasief

Fund Manager, Board Member

Dr. Yassir has played pivotal roles as a service provider, advisor, and investor. He is a co-founder of notable ventures including Glo App, Hajar Jewelry, and Baseqat. His significant accomplishments include establishing Palm Ventures alongside Redwan Abudawood, where he successfully raised over SAR 13M and invested in 17 startups, in addition to aiding portfolio companies in raising over SAR 8M. His professional journey also includes impactful stints at Panda – Savola, IMC, and Naft service company, and he has served as a board member and Secretary General at Al Ittihad Sport Club. Dr. Nasief's academic credentials are equally impressive, holding a PhD in Human Resources Management from the University of London (2014), an MBA from the University of Leicester (2005), and a B.S. in MIS from KFUPM (1999).

Eng. Redwan Abudawood is a distinguished Fund Manager and Board Member with a strong track record in entrepreneurial and consulting roles. He co-founded SmartBooking in 2016 and MyMajor101 in 2012, showcasing his innovative spirit. His consulting prowess is highlighted by his experience in advising over 25 startups within a span of two years and leading two commercialization projects. In collaboration with Yassir Nasief, he established Palm Ventures, successfully raising over SAR 13M and investing in 17 startups, as well as aiding their portfolio companies in raising more than SAR 8M. His industrial experience is marked by a significant six-year tenure at YANPET, a SABIC-ExxonMobil joint venture, where he managed one of its largest olefins production factories. Eng. Abudawood holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, with a minor in Chemistry and Economics, from the University of Colorado at Boulder, completed on a SABIC Scholarship in 2006.
